On demand check printing is the ability for an individual to produce a bank readable check onto a blank piece of check stock using a combination of check printing software, blank check stock, a TROY Printer equipped with specialized MICR toner and fonts. 

The acronym MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition.  This technology uses magnetically chargeable ink or toner to print the numbers and special characters on the bottom of checks or other financial transaction documents.   The numbers usually include the account number from which the money will be drawn, the identification number and the routing and transit of the check for the bank where the account resides.

Check Printing Software, allows you to link your accounting or banking software to a TROY Printer and produce checks.  TROY offers check printing software for accounts payable, payroll and banking environments.

To create a readable E-13B or CMC-7 line, individuals printing checks must use MICR Toner.
